Artist app is a way for users/fans to get hold of the album before it launches as a CD by having the user unlock its various songs through game play and interactivity. It is a new format for music.
Album apps include most of the features a standard artist app display but go a step further. Album apps contain the whole album and provide a different music fruition experience. One that takes advantage of the smart phone’s capabilities, i.e. accelerometer, touch, camera, microphone… mixing artwork, gameplay and narrative.
